Introduction of Aluminum Alloy 6061 Bar Stock Material:
6061 aluminum alloy bar is an Al-Mg-Si series aluminum alloy material with magnesium and silicon as the main alloying elements, and it belongs to heat-treatable alloy 12. It features medium strength, high toughness, excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability and processing performance. After oxidation treatment, the surface coloring effect is excellent and the deformation is low.
Chemical composition : The main elements include magnesium (0.8%-1.2%), silicon (0.4%-0.8%), and small amounts of manganese, chromium, copper or zinc are added to neutralize the harmful effects of iron to enhance strength without significantly reducing corrosion resistance; Chromium and titanium contribute to refining the grain structure.
Strengthening mechanism : Magnesium and silicon form the Mg2Si phase, and mechanical properties are enhanced through artificial aging hardening.
Mechanical properties :
Tensile strength ≥180MPa, yield strength ≥110MPa.
Elongation ≥14%, Brinell hardness HB 95-100.
It has a high elastic coefficient and a fatigue strength of approximately 62.1MPa
Machining characteristics :
It has outstanding plasticity and is suitable for processes such as extrusion and forging. After processing, the dimensions are stable and there is no obvious springback deformation.
It can undergo anodic oxidation treatment, with strong adhesion of the film layer and easy coloring.
It has excellent cutting performance and can be further optimized by adding lead or bismuth.
