Some Surface Treatments To Aluminum Alloy Parts

Sandblasting

Sandblasting process utilizes high-speed sand flow to impact the surface of aluminum alloy, thereby achieving the purpose of cleaning and increasing surface roughness. Sandblasting treatment can remove oil stains, oxide layers and other impurities on the surface of aluminum alloys, providing a good adhesion foundation for subsequent surface treatments such as spraying and electroplating. 


Polishing

Polishing is a common process in the surface treatment of aluminum alloys. It removes the uneven parts of the surface through mechanical, chemical or electrolytic methods, making it as smooth as a mirror. In aluminum alloy processing, mechanical polishing and electrolytic polishing are the most widely used.


Brushing

The brushing process is to form regular lines on the surface of aluminum alloy through grinding to achieve a decorative effect. Brushing treatment can not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the product, but also cover up some minor surface defects.


Anodizing

Anodizing is a chemical treatment method that forms an aluminum oxide film on the surface of aluminum alloys through electrolysis. The anodic oxide film features high hardness, good wear resistance and strong corrosion resistance, which can effectively protect the aluminum alloy substrate from erosion by the external environment. Meanwhile, the porous structure of the anodic oxide film endows it with excellent adsorption properties, enabling it to adsorb various pigments and dyes and form a rich variety of surface colors.


Coating

Coating is a process method in which paint is evenly applied to the surface of aluminum alloy. Coating not only protects the surface of aluminum alloy from corrosion and wear, but also endows it with rich colors and textures. Coating processes include various types such as powder coating, electrophoretic coating, and fluorocarbon coating. Powder coating evenly applies powder coatings on the surface of aluminum alloys through the principle of electrostatic adsorption, and then forms a firm coating through high-temperature curing.
